Muir Cottages
The Muir cottages along Crockett Cove all bear a family resemblance to each other. They all have shallow one-in-twelve roofs, dark posts and beams contrasting with blond wood interiors, expanses of windows facing the water, and board-and-batten exteriors. Each displays Emily's feng shui; they all are harmoniously situated on their terrains. Most share other features as well including interior gardens, sand paintings, granite fireplaces, and brightly painted kitchen cabinet doors. Yet each cottage has features that distinguish it from the others. Visiting the cottages is like exploring an exhibition of a painter's work in a gallery. Even if one has not seen a painting before, one can recognize the painter by its resemblance to the painter's other works but also see how it differs from the other paintings.
